Passenger brake light out, but directional & hazards work
Passenger brake light out, but directional & hazards work
I have an electrical system problem. My driver rear brake light does not work (does not come on with lights off, does not get bright when lights are on). Both taillights work, the directionals work and the hazards work. The bulb works fine.
I diagnosed the wiring and electrical connectors to find that each rear brake circuit (passenger and driver) has its own wire. I traced the wires back to the main connector above the rear axle and find that the passenger side (orange wire) gets juice with the brake pedal down, but the driver side (green/orange wire) does not.
Since the brake pedal switch only has two wires, I suspect that there is a dual pole relay somewhere that converts the switch signal to two light signals. I am guessing that one of the two poles of this relay is bad.
I am stuck at this point so any further help or critique of my analysis so far would be appreciated.
