Factory Remote Start Help

OK, I did some searching on here and saw that Ford made a factory remote start for our trucks......I looked and the part # is 2W7Z-19G364-CA. I would rather have professionals do this so I called the dealership where I bought my truck from and they say that Ford doesn't have a remote start for 07 F-150 and they haven't heard of one.

I think they are just full of it, I've checked and this part # shows that it is for my truck on Ford's accessories page. Now I don't know if I want them to even touch my truck.....Does anyone know if these factory remote starts are easy to install?

Don't get the factory remote starts they do not compare to after market. Fords Power Code remote start is actually made by Code alarms/audiovox. I had at first bought a Code alarm 530 remote start to put in my 06 f150 and had nothing but troubles.....would take 5 cranking amptemts to start the truck when it got to 0 or colder. Then on warm days it would not keep the truck running! I can not tell you how many times I changed the tach wire/ reprogrammed the dam thing.

My dad had a ultra start in his so I returned the code alarm and got the ultra and I have had ZERO problems with it......Many options to chose from incuding quick stop.

And for the dealer telling you that they don't have a remote start for your truck they have their heads up their azz. What ever you do you don't want them touching your truck!

They are really not that hard to install if you are ok with reading wire diagrams and soldering.

Heres a great website to find your trucks wiring colors.

I also bought my remote on Ebay for under 50.00 shipped plus the bypass unit for 30.00...sure beats paying someone 350.00+ for the same thing

Here's a link to their web site to search for shops that install them

Hopes this helps!

I agree that aftermarket is the way to go....I recently installed an Autostart system in my 04 FX4 and it replaced the factory fob....If you are comfortable with wiring/soldering and a multimeter you can do it....I had a few questions as I went and received excellent advise from other members of this site (kburchak especially).

P.S. Don't be shocked when you open the box and see all the wires, you don't need all of them. I used about 10-12 and it only took an afternoon.

Thanks Guys for the great advice, looks like I won't be getting the Factory one. I'll look into the ones you suggested.....

As for my dealership, I thought about calling them back since right on their website it says they do remote start, but I figured why was my time....

And NOOOOOOOO I won't be letting them touch my truck, at least not for anything major.

Thanks again for the advice,

Andy
