battery light is on and draining battery

Heres where it started. I sprayed out the inside of my 99 f150(120,000) with a powerwasher, to try to get the carpets clean. (lots of spilled coffee)
after that, I noticed some clicking noises, and then when i turned my truck off, the fan would stay running even with the key out..
That was yesterday. Today the battery light is on, and the power windows are moving very slow. It dies at lowes this morning. I take the alternator out, and have it tested at autozone and advance auto. They say its good. re-install(ive never had any bad battery symptoms before, but ive also never put a new battery in this unit) Bought a new battery while i was there.
The battery light is still on, and im afraid its going to drain the battery.
What to do?

You used a power washer inside your cab?

It really sounds like you got some components up behind the dash, wet. I'd take the truck out in the sun, open the windows, and let everything dry out. I'd also disconnect the battery, because you'll ruin it if it keeps discharging deeply.

You may have to leave it out several days. Bring it in if it rains.

Same Problem - Fixed

I had the same problem two days ago. I got a new battery and alternator (have lifetime warranty on both, thank God) but it didnt fix the problem. Checked the wires and all was good. It was a headache. It turned out to be the alternator field fuse was blown. Replaced the little fuse ($3.00) and all is well now. Hopefully this helps and maybe saves ya some money.

Could you please post a picture or explain where the fuse is? I have a similar problem. Thank you

Refer to owners manual for your vehicle but mine is listed as the "alternator field" fuse.
