this doesn't look factory installed so i'm wondering if the ford dealer install this while they added a remote starter and alarm system.

i'm sure one of you F-150 experts can help me out.

thanx.

Not sure what is, but it looks out of place for sure. I'd move it elsewhere.

kinda looks like a starter push button, is it mounted, or just clipped on there?

Hood switch, so the remote starter will not work when the hood is up.

I have the same thing with my Ford Silver Remote Starter. This does not mean the Gold level ( or CA equiv model ) does not use this as part of the alarm system.

or...

OR... to save money... They installed a Mercury switch in the engine compartment which is usually used for A tilt sensor for the car. Ex... Your car is getting towed. But they wanted it to have a dual pourpose. So instead of installing a Hood pin they just installed a Mercury switch inside the engine compartment Via the hood so that it could do both.

The difference is that it would set the alarm off instead of killing the Autostart.
