Um, you're saying it "electrically locks using the remote" but doesn't "electrically unlock"? Do you hear a "click"? If so, I'd suspect a bad motor/solenoid - whatever it is they use there now. It's getting the signal, but something is stopping it from moving the lock mechanism.

I haven't had much time to look at it before I went to go see jimmy Buffett but the little I did look it didnt make a clicking sound or anything. I'm hoping its just a wire that has come loose or something.

youve only specificed the remote key in your posts.
will it unlock using the buttons on the door?
and if you know what the auto unlock feature is on your truck will it unlock the door by itself? (start truck, open door, hit lock button, and the driver door should automatically unlock itself, therefore preventing you from locking you keys in the truck)

if absoultely nothing makes the door unlock, then try taking the panel off and checking for power at the motor/solenoid. if u get power then you have your answer. while you have the panel off check for the wire like your hoping.

and if you can check the wire where it goes from the door into the cab, with the door opening and closing as often as it does you may have cracked that wire.
