HIDs in PIAA driving lights

i bought a set of PIAA 540 driving lights about 2 months ago and love them but for some reason the bulbs went already... but i was thinking, would it hurt to install a set of H3 HIDs in them instead of ordering another set of regular PIAAs. there both 55w so i didnt think it would be a bad idea.. i havent heard of anyone doing this so i wasnt sure but im usually never in the electrical forums.. thanks guys.. TIM

it should work, the only problem i can see is the length of the bulb. HID bulbs tend to be longer so i dont know if it would work with the PIAA's. try emailing a seller and ask for the length of the bulb then compare that to the H3s and see if it would fit

it wont work unless you wire entirely separate relays. HID conversion kits need factory harnesses to connect to, which you wont have for your aux lights.
