here's the deal... I have a 97 f150 4x4... I bought it back in jan and being that it's winter up here I had it in 4wH and the delay portion of the wipers worked just fine. Now that the roads are usually dry I no longer need to be in 4wh and my delay wipers don't work, unless I use the fast, faster, and fastest setting... I don't understand how my 4wd shifter would affect the delay portion of my windshield wipers, being that it's not electronic 4wd. When I do select 4WH my Low lamp turns on briefly, which also doesn't make much sense to me either. I know it's not the GEM because I was having issues a few months ago, only to find out it was a Superchip gumming up my PCM, and replaced the GEM. I still had the same issues with the replacement GEM as I did with the original module, so i know it's not the GEM. If anyone had had this issue and knows how to correct this issue please let me know.
