rear break light/blinker issue

my right rear blinker and brake light are not working and my left rear is now intermitently not working. i have checked the fuses and the light bulbs and they are both good. does anyone have any suggestions or ideas? i have a wire diagram but can't seem to find where the wires are located under the hood. any help would be appreciated. thanks

Could be a ground, but with the intermittent operation on the other one, I woudl say connector for the MFS in the steering wheel column.

If you remove the plastic cover on the steering wheel column, you will see a connector for the wires leading up the MFS ( along with the hazard, and clock spring items ).

This might be pull apart / have discolored pins.

Pull up some slack from the under dash section of the harness and reset the connector. Pay attention if the clip for the connector is broken.

If all this checks out OK ( has slack, not pulled apart, no discolored pins ) then the next step is to test the MFS itself. This woudl require removing it, to test the contacts :

Good luck, let us know what happens with the testing
