Illumination Source
Illumination Source
I'm trying to install my gauges and am having trouble finding a dimmer/illumination source.* The lightning guys use their ashtray but the F150 doesn't have an ashtray light, or at least mine doesnt.* Any ideas where I could find a quick source to a dash light without pulling the whole dash apart?* Is there one near the fuse panel I can spot??

Headlight switch terminal 1 for dimmer power.
Test it with a meter to be sure.
Lead color should be a LB/RD.
Should be able to get at it without tearing things apart to far.

Or use fuse 18 and an add-a-tap to provide a second fused source. This fuse powered by light switch action.
Test with a meter or test lamp to be sure it's what you want.

Switched power for electric gauges thru an add-a tap for safety, try fuse 6.

I hate these tiny fuses, almost impossible to get one of the taps in there. Guess I'll go buy one of the fancy add a fuse taps.
Looks like a trip to the auto parts store on my lunch break.
