'06 Foglights out
'06 Foglights out
All, recently noticed that my '06 factory foglights were no longer burning. Thought it was odd that both would blow at the same time so I checked the fuss and found it didn't appear blown. My question before I run out and pick up a pair of replacement bulbs, and maybe a fuse just for good measure. Should the light on indicator on the switch be lit regardless of the bulb status or does it go out as a indicator that the bulbs are blown? Might try to pick up a set on the way home if I make it out before the stores close and test the theory myself but figured someone might already know. Thanks in advance.
The Fog lamp icon on the switch should only be out when the fog lamp **** is not puled out, or when the high beams are on.
Did you check that your high beams are not on ?
Quick test, turn the main headlamp switch to the parking lamp position, and pull out the fog lamp switch.
The fog lamp relay coil gets power from Fuse F6 ( parking lamp and instrument illumination fuse ).
The Fog lamp icon illumination gets ground from the high beam indicator on the dash ( Connector C220A, pin 10 ).
Have not tried pulling the fog lamp relay, and turning them on, but that is something I am going to keep in mind if this turns into troubleshooting 101 here.
Good luck, let us know what happens with the tests above.

Nope, highbeams aren't on and the foglights nor indicator illuminates even when the **** is pulled out with only the running lights on. I'll probably try replacing the fuse and then 1 bulb at a time if the fuse change has no effect.
Thanks for the other suggestions, but if it's not fuse or bulbs it'll go to the dealer to troubleshoot under warranty. Thanks again.

Was finally able to get by the dealership and it turns out the switch is bad. Unfortunately they don't stock it so it'll be later in the week before they can replace it.
SSCULLY was dead on that the indicator should be lit regardless of bulb state except in the situations he listed. Thanks.
