Hoping someone can help me out here.

Getting 1-8 flashing air bag indicator light on dash then stays on. Anyone know what it means?

Code 1-8 is for the passenger air deactivation (PAD)indicator from section 501-20B4 in service manual (Ford) thatv the passenger air bag module is disabled (off)There 3 possible problems for the light to be on. There is a 10 step procedure for diagnosing the problen. My suggestion is to get a hold of a Ford factory service manual from E-Bay. These are the only manuals that are very complete unlike some others Bob

 

I would suggest you take it to a dealership to have it checked out.You did not state how many miles are on the vehicle. but it still may be covered under 3/36 warranty. But I would still highly recommend that you get a factory service manual(there are 2 volumes. lol Bob

Thanks for the reply and info. I will most likely end up taking it in as the truck is still at 42,000km and covered under Warranty.
I just thought it may be a simple fix and I might be able to avoid the visit to the Dealer.
