how do i disable the running light feature that sends lower voltage to my headlights as soon as th key is turned on regardless of whether or not the headlights are turned on? i want to be able to turn my headlights completely off while the truck is running. anybody know how i can accomplish this?

Are you sure they are DRLs and not the autolamps that have the sensor with the notches cut out for it in the dash panel?

If they are the DRLs...you have a resistor hanging behind the driver's side headlight that can be pulled or pop open that dash cover and take out the relay...

I will gladly buy your relay IF you have DRLs. They don't make them anymore and I have been wanting to hook up my DRLs for a while, but that stupid generic kit has me less than enthused about setting it up...

Few posts with adding and disabling them.

Here is one post ( found with the term DRLs and my S/N ) that shows where the DRL resistor is located, as well as where the relay is at :

This is a complete disable, not a temp thing that you can turn them on and off like a GM, cycling the headlamp switch to the left.

Hope this helps with your de-install
