Need help with dead feed to trailer connector
Need help with dead feed to trailer connector
I'm getting my 05 ready for a trip and noticed there was no power at the trailer connector for the left signal/brake light. Right signal/brake is OK.
I followed the wires from the connector forward assuming they would connect to the tail light wiring [tail light signal/brake are all working]
I discovered the connector feed comes on separate wires from the cab. Green wire for the working right signal/brake light and yellow for the non-working left. The wires come through the floor at the drivers step plate, back the plate and go behind the drivers seat under the carpet. A test light at this point, with the 4 way flashers turned on shows the green right side working and the yellow not.
Can anyone tell me where this yellow wire goes to and where is the source?
Thanks in advance.

Have you checked the fuses? I think they have individual fuses for the trailer connector. My 01 shows different ones for left and right signals on the trailer connector. The manual should show which ones they are
Rule number 1....always check the fuses. AND I DIDN'T !!!
Never thought about the L and R being fused individually. I do see the fuse in the manual, will check it out in the morning.
This was a damaged/repaired truck and I was thinking stretched/damaged wire.
Thanks for the tip!!
