I think it's worth mentioning, that even if the resistor doesn't look like it needs solder; i.e. looks perfectly ok, give it a whirl anyway. my looked perfect, and a dab of solder worked as well.

Thermometer and compass not working

Found this forum and followed instructions and everything worked as demonstrated. Thanks very easy.

I had a similar issue, compass and thermometer just stopped working. Pulled it apart, and saw one of the 501 surface mounts was loose. I soldered it back into place, and it works again.
