Can someone help with this Mod?
I saw this really cool mod for my truck today. http://www.f150store.com/Shop/ViewPr...eIndexID=65318 There L.E.D safety lights that you mount under your door and projects a beam of light on the ground at night. In instructions it says to tap into courtesy lights in the door (if you have them) or (if not) underneath the dash lights which we dont have either. Then it said if neither are avail to tap into the dome lights, Red wire on Red, Black on Black but i dont wanna go through all the trouble of wiring these L.E.D's ALL way to the domes. My question is: Is there another easier place i can wire these L.E.D's to simplify my life like maybe a fuse etc? door pins maybe but dunno where it is.There must be somewhere else we can wire them to. TY for any and all reply's. BTW my truck is a 2004 F150 Lariat
Few places you can look for the interior lamps at.
You are looking for:
black w/ light blue wire, circuit 53 for the output of the output of the panel switch ( feed the CHMSL cargo lamps, and the interior lamps )
The other lighting circuit is light green w/ orange stripe, but this is the output of the battery saver relay, and is for turning on the dome lights via the switch on them ( i.e map lights in the front ). I would not think this is what you are after.
With a Supercab :
Connector C615 might have the interior lamp on connector C615
I do not recall if it is in this connector without the puddle lamps on the mirrors ( king ranch ). At the time I was looking for the auto fold circuit, so I cannot say 100% if it is there or not. need to take a look.
Splice S325 under right side of instrument panel. This one would be interesting to locate under there,, so only go looking here as a last resort.
connector C314 ( C315 on SCrew )
this is in the left hand C-pillar for the circuit to the lights in the roof. This is what the cargo lamp in the CHMSL and both the front and rear dome lights run to.
If you want to go fishing up behind the dash, just get the output of the dome function on the panel dimmer.
Those are the places straight away that I find in the 2006 EVTM, should be the same on you 2004.
Good luck

The C-pillar is the where your rear door hinges attach to.
Might be int he door sill some where, but it might not be easy to find.
You would either use a T-Tap or solder a saddle tap ( what you described with the electrical tape, but solder it first ) a wire to this, and run it along the door sill towards the kick panel. if you are putting a light on each front door, run the wire to the kick panel, T-Tap or solder a saddle tap here to run to the door and then under the dash to the other door. This is what the red wire on the light is connected to.
Remember to find a good ground either in the door, or under the dash for the black wire.
Hope that helps.

Won't be a problem, just have your meter handy to check for voltage, and make the last T-Tap the one in the C-pillar or use your dome defeat switch, so you do not have a hot wire dragging around the metal body and under the dash.

That is the C-pillar, you got it !
There should be more then enough room there and under the dash by the kick panel for T-taps, crimp in the cab will be fine.
