Keyless Entry Code

I just purchased a used 2006 F150 XLT Supercab with the 5.4L from a dealer today. I used to have a 2004 F150 STX that I got rid of due to the high fuel costs. Oh well, its only money and it's great to be back in the saddle again. Anyway surprise surprise the dealer didn't have the security code from the previous owner and the code is not with the other literature in the glove box. After reading as many posts that I can on the subject I still can't find the box under the dash by the brake pedal that has the 5 digit code that I need. Am I looking in the wrong place? Any help would be appreciated.

If I understand correctly, the service department should be able to look up your default code by using the VIN of your truck. Also, I've heard that the default code is on something behind the back seat backrest.

It would hurt to ask.

if you look at the main picture, with the seat out you see a black box on the driver side with a white label. thats what ur aiming for.

and just to correct stx so as not to confuse anyone, it is not a "default" code, its the factory code and cannot be changed, it will always work to open the door, even after you have set up ur own code, and u only get to choose 1 code, anything programmed after that will wip out the previous.

the pictures give u a good idea what the clips look like and what your trying to actually do.
a friend helping is beneficial, but i managed to do it on my own, and it a cakewalk now.

Thanks 02SC4x4, finally figured it out this morning. With a little bit of patience and alot of swearing I was able to get that rear seat back removed and sure enough there was the code. Worked great, thanks for the help.

Good for you! I've resisted even trying to get the code on my 2005 - seems like way too much work. I decided to just live with the code the former owner told me. For all I know, it's the factory code.

I do think though, that the dealer should have been able to give you the code in your truck as a "thank you" for buying it from him.
