Blue headlight

I have a 2004 FX4 and i was wondering where to get a nice set of headlights and fog lights that have that blueish tinge to them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

your thinking of HIDs, the can run you anywhere from $70 to over $500. you can get the blue tinted bulbs from autozone or where ever but they will have virtually no light output and strain the hell out of your eyes. search ebay and google for a 6000k HID kit. that will be that blueish white light you see on the newer BMWs and Mercs. its blue but not so blue that you lose light output.

I am looking for the seem type of light. I found this kit on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...AQ:MOTORS:1123

I emailed the seller and he has a kit that will give the high/lo beam bulb and all the wiring for $90.

I wonder if this kit is anygood?

If you dont want to spend that type of cash go with the Sylvania Silverstars for your head and fogs. You'll have about 60 bucks in all. No blue tint but a crisp white light thats nice and bright.

lmfao.. hid>silverstars any day...

hids are the one mod that has the greatest returns, most noticeable returns...

the kit he found is only 90$... might not be the best kit.. but way better then silverstars

just remember blue doesn't mean bright... id go with a 6k kit imo... 8k MAX

I agree 100% with the HID vs Silverstar.

However, the real deal cost's $$$$$ and that's the way I would go vs. a 90$ kit that's like you said "might not be the best". Save your greenbacks until you can get the good stuff, you'll be glad you did. In the mean time, the silverstars are much better than stock, quick cheap fix but are also a great performer.

That's just the way I roll

well... i spent over $400 EA on my two 'Ignited Performance Kits'
but not everyone cares for brand name.. of course it can be better, but most don't care when it comes to HIDS for whatever reason.

There are cheap kits out there.. of course buyer beware, but best thing is to search HIDS on here as there is a new thread almost every other day - and compair cheap kits responses and feedback... as there are some 'some' cheap kits from companies that people recommend and have done warranty service with...

thats the key.. cause a product is only as good as its warranty, if a company doesn't provide it or is sketchty to deal with when problems arise - STAY AWAY.

I always recommend a local shop / online shop with local location close to where you live... so if something arises you can go there directly instead of paying as much shipping etc as you did for the product.

So you paid over 400 each because of the brand name or because they are better than, lets say the cheaper kits?

both... mind you their kits have gone cheaper now by over $150.. this was 2 years ago and the start of the 'hid phase'.

but they have a local rep i deal with.. great warranty, great brand...

but, thats not to say cheaper kits aren't available that have a reputable company/warranty backing them... just remember there is more likely to happen with them...

I have seen a bunch of pairs of HID's in couple of my buddies truck. I decided to go with a guy out of Texas. He backs his product 100% and sends them over night. If anything happens he will replace it and send it over night and then you send him the product back. I can't say how great the HID's are and the company. Price is $130 shipped to your door overnight. Here is the website.

http://shop.3bspecialties.com/main.s...51969.qscweb24. If you want to call, there are phone numbers there and talk to Hanh. Could not have been happier.
