tachometer install

I have a 97 F150 with 4.6. It does not have a tach. I am going to aquire a guage cluster out of another 97 that has a tach. What is it gonna take to get that tach to work? Is it something that is do-able? What electrical connections will have to be made?

Thanks

Chuck, click on the search button at the top of the page. Type "tach install" I did a brief search and came up with a couple of threads that may help. Good luck.

just buy the edge. it will give you a tach plus alot more. you'll like it. i do, best $355 i spent on my truck. but i don't know if they make one for a 97. sure they do.

Did the Edge help you with fuel Economy? How big of power increase did you get out of it?

Well guys, I did it. On a 97, and 98 I believe, that doesn't have the digital odometer, all you have two do is swap clusters. Pluged it in and it works like a champ. Mileage on the odometer is now different, but oh well.
