After market tach

Well my truck didn't come with a tach so i want to put one in. How would i go about hooking the green wire to the ignition coil? Also what would be the best place to get a 12v hook up.

It depends on the ignition system (my instructions showed me where for each type). I just installed a tach in my truck about 3 days ago. On mine, I used a splice connect and hooked it to the black wire on the coil, which is specifically labeled as a tach test point. The 12V source must be an ignition switched source. I hooked mine up to the same source as my electric choke is becuase that had to be a ignition switched source as well; which for me happened to be an unused wire coming from the fuse box.
