tach

tach

I have a 2001 f250sd with 5.4 w/106,000m on it when i try to start it the tach jumps i replaced the cam and crank sensor but it still jumps when i start it any info would help thanks greg

Sounds like your battery is going out. Take it to the parts store and have it tested.

Battery if it's only doing that during startup. If it continues to do that, its an alternator prob. AutoZone does battery and alternator checks for free!

I have a new batt and alt on it I should have put in the post that was the first thing i checked

Have you checked the tach ground to make sure it is good and not corroded?

I'm not sure how the tach is grounded, but sometimes my ground wires to my fog lights rust out and every few months I'll disconnect them, sand it down, and reconnect them. Works perfect should this be your problem.
