Installing GPS

On a 2004 F150, where is the internal fuse box located?

I am going to add a "Add a circuit" device to tap into the fuse box and install a Garmin Nuvi. It's on my fathers truck, which I don't have access to now, or I'd look myself. I assume this model of F150 is using mini fuses; correct?

Which circuits are "switched" -- i.e, they come on with the ignition and off with the same?

Thank you in advance!

you could tap into the cigarette lighter, close to the dash easy to hide wires...portable gps does not draw much and the cigarette lighter will already be fused for you

Really? I didn't know the cig lighter was off with the ignition off? Hmmm. Not a bad idea then.

Does the 2004 F150 use mini fuses?

Thanks!

Your cigarette lighter is NOT off with the ignition off. It's hot all the time. As for the fuses, yes, they're mini ATO style.

Ha, ha! Well, okay, back to my original question then: Which fuse is "switched" in the fuse box?

Thanks!

Use a multimeter/test light. The ones that come to mind are the radio, a/c, ect.
