Fog lamps not working...???

I have an '06 -150 equipped with the embedded, bumber mounted fog lamps but these lights never seem to come on.

I have read the manual and understand the whole "brights on fog lamps do not work, etc" deal but these lights will not come on in any setting of the light switch with the headlights at normal setting (control stalk pulled back.) Am I missing something here?

I've never known them to work since I got it new and I haven't missed them, but, I just got kind of curious about them and begin looking into it.

I haven't checked the fuses yet, I will, but just curious if anyone has had this happen and if so what it might have been. I wasn't a "Ford guy" when I got it but it has been 1 year of driving pleasure and I can't find a single thing about the pickup that I don't like..........but I do hope I didn't drive it off the lot with defective lights.

JoenTx, do you pull the dash switch **** out? When you turn on the lights you have to pull the **** on the dash switch out to turn on the fog lights. The little icon for the fog lights will light up.

Glad it was an easy fix. I was going to ask if your high beams work.

For future reference, the ground on the fog lamp relay is obtained via the high beam element. This is how they shut off when the high beams are on.

If both high beams are burnt out, the fog lamps will not work in the low beam position.

JoenTx, don't feel silly. I've learned alot from the members here. There's info here you won't get anywhere else. You came to the right place if you own a F150.
