Unhappy running lights not working on tow vehicle

2000 Ford 150 taillight problem. Please help! When I hook-up the tow vehicle wiring to the truck recepticle, I get everything except running lights. I get break lights, hazzards, turn signals but no running lights. Its not the tow vehicle. It doesn't matter what tow vehicle I hook up, the running lights don't work on any of them. I replaced fuses, and bulbs. Please help.

Thanks
Hank

Which fuses did you replace ?

PDB ( Power Dist Box, aka under hood fuse panel ) Fuse #5 20 A

or

PDB Fuse #6 15 A ?

#6 is for the truck's parking lamps, #5 is for the trailer's parking lamps. You do not specify what fuse you replaced.

For a quick test of the trailer tow parking lamp relay, pull fuse #5, and turn on the parking lamps.

Probe both sides of the fuse slot #5 to a known good ground for 12 V DC ( or higher ). If you do not have 12 V in the fuse slot #5 with the truck parking lamps on, you have a bad or missing trailer tow parking lamp relay, #201 in the PDB.

This is assuming that you are talking about the factory harness, if this is a hoppy add on to the truck's wiring, then it could be a faulty connector ( no firm indication if this is on the factory or after market trailer tow adapter in the post ).

I have the exact same problem. I am curious to see what you find as the solution.

Thanks for the replies, I'm not sure which fuses I replaced but looking at the owners manual, I replaced two or three fuses that referenced the tail lamps/trailer lights. I'll take the advise and when I look at it tonight, I'll let you all know what I find.
Thanks
Hank

Is there a trailer park lamp relay installed in the PDB under the hood? It should be #201 and is a half relay (smaller).
