Backup sensor...piece

Does anyone else have problems with their backup sensor just beeping for no apparent reason? Every time I put it in reverse, the damn loud beeping noise keeps coming on....when clearly nothing is behind me. The thing is semi-nice for when I'm trying to backup real close to something, but overall it's just a nuisance....

Also, when I push in the button to turn it off, it ultimately comes back out....or when I restart the truck it's on again. Does anyone know how to disable the backup sensor? Or something to make it stop giving out false alarms?

Any help is appreciated....thanks in advance.

SD

There are LOTS of old threads here (& on other F150 BBSs) about this, and there are Ford TSBs about disabling the system. Do a little searching & you'll find them.

It's also possible that one of the sensors is dirty. Clean em off and see if it stops..
