Temp readout

Well my truck has the readout which will show the outside temp on the same little display as the odometer. What im curious about is if there is something you need to do to calibrate it. Mine always seems to be a couple degrees high and it would be nice for it to accurately show the outside temp. Is there anything i can do, or does it mean a new sensor or something?

Well, they're not perfect.

Sometimes a dealer reflash will fix it; most of the time, you need to replace the sensor - which is in front of the rad, on the middle vertical support - be careful, the other object there is the airbag decel sensor - you'll know real fast if you peckered with the wrong one

mine reads high when im idling or when i first get in it, to be accurate it needs to have air flow going over it, atleast 5-10 mph

How do you know??? What are you using to measure the REAL temperature? Two degrees - even 5 is an acceptable error for that system, so if you're only "a couple degrees" off, be happy.
