Radio stays on after key

My issue was the VSM - it was bad. RePlaced and all is well. Hope this helps others with similar problems - seems common in 2002 Excursion.

I too have the 04 lariat screw cab and had the dome lights didn't come on or the door ajar didn't work. Found the bad splice in the back door channel like other people on this post and another post described. Like was stated bad splice. Wire was rotted back about 1/4 inch. Pictures were helpful. Made new joint and all is good. I think water was coming in from the 3rd light as when I changed a blown bulb to get the cruise working noticed gasket was not in the right position at the top with a little bit of water leaking by. I just wish to thank everyone that took the time to post the solution. Really good work.

Electrical Help

I am aware that ppl have found the fix for the Auto Lock / Data Error etc, but I have just started to experience this issue. I was hoping that the pics are still floating around for these ellusive purple wires (I have many purple wires in this area) and/or can someone point me in the direction of these wires.

Thanks

Just found this post, lots of good info here, need help on a similar problem I have concerning the electrical on my 05 F-150 SCREW.

Over the course of about 2 yrs I have had the power windows and locks go out, dealership replaced the unit.

About a year later the power windows and locks went out again, drivers side is completly dead, however occasionally other doors can operate the locks only?

Just recently the dome light does not come on when the drivers side door is opened.

My question, are these problems inter-connected, windows locks and lights or are they 2 seperate problems, as stated in this thread, bad splice for the lights and a diffrent (grounding) problem for the windows/locks?

Thanks in advance for any info

Ben

The wire splice is on the driver's side wire bundle just before the wire goes into the rear pillar. I have a pic if anyone is interested...
