Hids in a 2004

I was looking at picking up a HID kit for my 2004 f150 and was curious how they work with the H13 bulbs. Do i lose my lowbeams? I dont really use the highbeams, but the reason im curious is because i already have a HID kit from my old car that i pulled out when i traded it in. And if i can just swap the bulbs that would be great, otherwise ill probably just pick up one of the cheap kits from ebay.

i just installed H13 xenon in my headlights and 9005 xenon in my fogs a few days ago. I lost the use of my highbeams, but u can get a bi-xenon kit that u can use ur low beams and high with. I dont really need the high beams....the 9005 kit i put in my fogs is actually a high beam HID kit...very bright. I got the 4300k for both

I find it very important to make sure that anyone "losing" their high beams understands that some states have inspections where the high beams are checked for proper operation... not having properly working high beams is cause for failure... just be sure to check your local laws before you do any moding that will cause you to "lose" anything...

If you guys are getting HID's by just swapping in the capsules and ballasts, you're both breaking the law and endangering fellow motorists! The housings on those headlights are not designed for HID lighting, and as such, do not have the proper light cutoff design. You're creating a tremendous amount of glare for oncoming drivers. If you want to have HID's, you MUST swap in projectors from a donor vehicle so you not only protect other drivers, but also get the maximum performance out of your investment. You're wasting a tremendous amount of light by just throwing an HID kit into your halogen housings.

If nothing else, barring blinding somebody oncoming, you may get a ticket from a cop, and rightfully so.

I had the HID kit in my lincoln for about a year without a single person flashing their high at me or hassle of any kind. And they were not the HID housings. Sure they will be a bunch brighter but theres alot worse things out there than putting hid bulbs into a non hid housing.
