intermittent signal lite fixed
intermittent signal lite fixed
2000 F150. Had intermittent right turn signal. When I drove it was fine, but when my wife drove it never worked. Discovered threads on this site about the steering column wiring being taped too short and the wires pulling out of the mulit function switch. Turned out the wife used the tilt wheel in the down position so that is why it never worked for her.
Big Thanks to all posts on this site for the prior threads on how to fix this. Cover over the steering column is easy removal, 3 screws. The ignition tumbler had to come out, but that is simple. Turn key to On position. find the hole underneath the tumbler and push in the silver metal button on the tumbler, it pops right out then. In my case, there were 2 wires that were loose in the grey plastic clip or sleeve that pushes into the MFSwitch. The sleeve has clips top and bottom and when I touched them they fell apart, obviously broke for awhile. On my sleeve, I saw the individual clips that hold each wire, and 2 were broke off, hence the wires were loose in the clip holder.
Ford part number E6DZ-14489-M is the grey plastic sleeve, they call it. 8 bucks. Remove about seven wires and push them into your new sleeve.
Blinkers work great now as do the 4 way flasher that didn't work before either. Thanks to prior threads for leading me through this.

I have a 97 ranger that uses the same "sleeve" part num E6DZ-14489-M. My part did the same as above but all the wires came out (which is just four of them on my truck) but now i have no clue which wires go where in the 9 possible slots of this sleeve.
Can anybody help with a picture or how to figure out which color wires go where in this sleeve?
Thanks for your time in advance!
