Rear power windows don't go down all the way.

I have an 02 supercrew and want to know if anyone has figured out how to bypass the safety mechanism that controls how low the rear windows go. I would like for the rear windows to go complete down all the way just like to front windows.

any ideas?

thanks in advance...

Other people have asked that and it's the way FORD made it.I think you would have too put all new workings inside the door from some other vel for it to go all the way down.I wish they did go down all the way too.

With so many bright people in this site, I know someone has figured it out but not shared their knowledge with us just yet!!!

Maybe the solution is to change the rear windows motors with the front windows motors. It could be that there is a bracket or stopper of some kind that keeps it from going all the way down.

Maybe the motor & mechanism from a newer F150? My 2002 SCREW didn't, but my 2006 does.

There was a change in the rear windows at 2004.

If you look at the shape of the door, there is no room to have a full travel window, take the door panel off, and take a look.

When I stripped the door panel off my '01 to install tweeters, the window in the down position is almost at the bottom of the curve on the back part of the door ( shape is almost a S back there, less the bottom tail ).

'04+ the door shape was changed to a straight door like the front door.

Marketing might call it a kid friendly rear window, but it is marketing covering up a design constraint.

It was because the parts from the Expedition were used and the Expy doors are shaped around the rear wheel. There is room in Screw doors but the Expy parts don't allow full motion.
This has been covered in the Screw forum multiple times.
