Mirror Upgrade-03 xlt (Attn: Sscully!)

Hey. I have an 03 xlt, and have bought the signal mirror glass upgrade. I also would like the mirror assembly with the turn signal light built onto its exterior. I looked at ford-parts, but am confused as to what to actually look for. Also, would the new mirror housing make it a heated mirror, and would I have to upgrade the driver's controls on the door panel as well? Thanx.

Is the signal mirror glass upgrade the Muth Co mirrors ? These are real easy to install into a XLT ( at least on my '01 it was ).

For the replacement of the mirror head itself, that is 1 of 2 ways:
1. Chidiver bought just the glamor cap and dremmeled out the mirror head where it needed to be. I can't find his pictures at the moment, but it seemed to turn out well. This is about a 90.00 per side in painted.

2. replace the complete mirror head with the correct body style ( SCrews are a mirror onto themselves ). At www.oemfordparts.com I only found the mirror with and without the signal on it, no note of heated or not. If you are going heated, that would be the option ordered with the Muth mirror ( if I got the part correct about the mirror glass upgrade correct ), not with the mirror head itself.
To find the mirrors I am talking about :
oemfordparts.com -> ( '03 Ford F-150 ) catalog -> collision catalog -> Front Door -> outside mirrors -> mirrors -> Electric ( manual does not offer the signal in the glamor cap ).

I do not know where the switch is straight away for the heated mirrors on the 99-03 series, in the 04+ it is on the console by the HVAC controls.
You could order the heated mirrors, and install either an additional switch, or try to locate the factory switch ( in door ?? ).

Not sure if I got all that correct or not, let us know.
