Wiper unexplained activation??

Hi All
Kind a new to searching here for answers...
I have a 99 F150 XLT, and the "intermittent wiper system" has acted up over the past 2 yrs. Issue is increasing in frequency:
The Wipers just begin to swipe the windshield alll of a suuden, sometimes for one swipe some times a handful. Then they stop. I did not activate the wipers, so this is strange.
Any help out there??
Thanks

You are a victim of the "phantom wipe"

See the attached thread for more info, or SEARCH on the topic.

Little off topic here, but on my '92 Mercury Grand Marquis POS daily commuter, one day the wipers decided to move to the up position on their own. Now when the wipers are off, they are in the up position. They still work fine....kinda weird.
