4 way wigwag
Hi all
Am installing Thundercat 4 way wigwag and would like to put the wired control unit under the hood and have minimum wiring. This unit flashes the headlights as well as the brake/backup lights. Have already located and prepped the R and L headlamp highbeam wires and found the light green wire for the brake light in the wire loom on the left side upper firewall.
One last wire to find! Where can I tap into the black/pink backup light wire without going all the way to the taillights.
Thanks up front.

Wig wags question
I'm one of the lookers.. I also have a 2006 F-150 and have been told that I can not use a wig wag with the 2006 headlights by one of the manufactures.
I've been anxiously awaiting replys as you have. I don't want to take the chance of melting my headlight assembly as I was informed would happen. I've been hoping this manufacture was wrong or there is another unit that will work. If you find some thing out please post it... Thank you.
Below is what I read online: There are currently over 30 types of headlight flasher sytems that are used for various vehicles. If you are not sure which one will work for your vehicle, please call 888-582-9955 (M-F 9-5 Eastern) and we will look up the exact make / model / year for your vehicle.

I have a 07' F150 and I can tell you first hand that the Wig Wag (at least the one I have) headlight controller WILL NOT melt your headlights/wiring/bulbs ect. I have the SHO-ME Random Flash Headlight Flasher by Able 2. It works GREAT and have never had any kind of problems with it... Plus it gets those slow drivers on the highway to move out of the way and let you pass

Could you give us the Model that you are using, the link that you posted doesn't seem to work.
Also on Galls web site the suggested headlight/taillight flasher compatibility chart mentions about the reflector problem.(http://www.galls.com/headlight_flasher.html)
2007 F Series Pick Up - No Flasher Available
2005-2006 F Series Pick Up
Sealed Beam Headlights - Model flasher: FS001 FS002 FS039 FS055
Standard Headlights - No Flasher Available
(Melts the Inner Reflector No Flasher Available)
As you mentioned your model is working well for you, please let us know what SHO-ME Able2 unit it is. Maybe 03.W3125 ??

Sorry it took me so long to respond...
03.W3126 is the model that I have. The 03.W3125 is for vehicles with day time running lights. I got it from http://www.lshlights.net for $35 or $40.

I just read that link you posted... It does say "No Flasher Available
Melts the Inner Reflector" for m/y 2007, but I have not had any problems. Also, the model that shows in that link actually uses relays for the flashing, the model I have is 100% solid-state, no relays to burn out, it just has fast switching transistors...
Plus, how would it melt the reflector by flashing??? It produces much more heat when your high-beams are on than it does when they are intermittently flashing????

Wig wags
When you turn on high beams your low beams go off. They are not both on at the same time as with wig-wags at night your low beams stay on and the highs keep flashing on and off.
I did end up installing a Sound Off Signal wig-wag flasher after I had spoken with several vendors and the manufacture. Tech support at Sound Off warned me if the reflector in the headlight housing was above the bulb it could melt the housing. Although he could not tell me what F-150s had the reflector above the bulb. He also mentioned at night with the low beam on and the high beam flashing it creates more heat in the housing than it was designed for. Both are not designed to be on at the same time... I had not looked at it that way before. I guess if someone even had the reflector above and only used the flasher during the day or limited the duration at night it wouldn't be a problem anyways.
Thanks for your reply...If anyone else is installing w wig-wag hopefully this will help
