Keyless entry honk

I got a keyless entry system put on awhile back and i like it except for one thing. when i lock the doors it doesnt honk. well i wired up my horns to the lock motor, with a fuse, and now when i lock it the horn blows.

the problem is the horn blows for like 1-2 seconds. stock sytems have a short beep when you lock the doors. well i want mine to do this and not have a long beeeeeep to it.

i think my relay just makes contact for too long, is there a relay that will have a shorter contact time or is there another way to get the horns to just beep, instead of beeeeeeeep.

like i said the setup works fine except the horn stays on too long

any ideas

Let me see if I have this straight...

You put an after market keyless entry system, by an unnamed vendor, on an unnamed vehicle, and you want us to troubleshoot it. Did I miss anything?

Seriously, a little more information would help. Maybe someone has used the product before. General suggestions:

Try reading the owner's manual - it may be a user-selectable option.
Try contacting the vendor.

Good luck.

I know on my RKE that if I press it once it locks, twice confirms the lock with a short horn.

Yup my 2001 factory key fobber did the same, first push no honk, only honked on the second push of the button, too bad I lost it last week in Washington DC.
