Kill Switch

I would Like to wire up a simple Kill Switch in my truck. Anybody have any good ideas or experiances with this? I am going to try and make it look stock/hidden. Any comments will help.

These are used as factory transport kill-switches on some Land Rovers, so they're certainly up to the task, and easy-to-find. I have several.

Here are a few possible ways to add it into a circuit.

Your starter wiring is SLIGHTLY different from that diagram (you have a wire straight from the battery to the starter solenoid), but you can still use those. Yours is like this:

As for physical locations, that'll depend (naturally) on how it's placed electrically, but for the "starter-disable" option, the passenger floorboard up under the dash would be good.

If you want to go with a lower AMP version

Kill switch inline with the fuel inertia switch :

Just another option to add to the list.

Are you looking for a disable, or an actual shutdown like on a motorcycle? If it's a disable style, I would go with the one described in the link above.
