i am not sure if this belongs in this section or not, but i am trying to put in a set of extra lights. i was wondering if there was a correct way to go through the firewall to put in the switch. is threre a way to go around the firewall. i really dont want to drill into my truck but need to get the wires into the cab somehow. is there a trick? my truck is a 2000 f 150 scab

Find a rubber grommet with wires or hoses going thru it. Gently push a coathanger or phillips screwdriver thru the middle of the bundle to open a gap, then push your wire(s) in.

But depending on how you want them to work, you don't necessarily need any wires going thru the firewall. If you want them on whenever the key is on, wire them to a relay triggered by the PCM power relay's output. If you want them on only when the engine is running, trigger their relay off the fuel pump relay. If you want them on with the parking lights, trigger off that circuit.
