new cb system + pa + roadrage

so today at work i signed up for a radioshack credit card and bought the top model that we carry in stores...very extreme cb radio...got my "nos" safety switches in and got me the highest watt loudhorn we carry...

im a wiring addict i got more electronics running in my car than anyone i know

this thing is very loud...i put it behind the front license plat so it wouldnt get hella water in it...

now i can yell for people to get out of the way....and i got a short 14" cb antenna ordered so i can talk to truckers and other people

what do yall think? its great it even has weather bands/dimming/

And all NightWatch CB radios incorporate Cobra's exclusive SoundTracker® system to reduce static by up to 90 percent.

total cost ran me like 180...but i got a year 2 pay it off so its all good

as for the switches...the 1 is headlight leds 2 is amp on/off(if im workin and listening to radio kills battery) 3 is pa system 4 is fog lights

is it true if i do not tune the antenna right it will ruin my cb radio? how do i tune it...cant find any good how 2's

Yes if your antenna is not tuned correctly, high SWR will ruin your radio. You need to get an SWR meter to tune it. Those an be found at Rat Shack also and they come with good instructions

This required 4 small holes in the roof, but if I remove the screws, I could rub the headliner & they'd pretty much disappear.

I've been searching the local RSs for a week now trying to find a replacement antenna connector for a common car stereo, but apparently, they don't carry anything for radios.

i know what your talkin about but my watauga store dont even carry the fiberglass whips anymore...we dont carry much for stuff...leds run 2 bucks for a 2 pack!...but if u need em u will sadly have to pay large for simple items

no offense and i mean no offense...why does you cb setup enclosure look like masking tape and falling apart?

your radio does have a swr meter in it just read the book its very simple to use and tells u exactly how to do it. to adjust the antenna there will be a little allen head screw holding it tight and you loosen it and slide the antenna up and down u dont wanna go more than say a 1/4 inch at a time which the book should specify. its easy just follow the directions. if u have anymore questions just let me know, Scott

Did you read the caption? Have you looked at the other pics of my truck? It's been rolled, the engine has been replaced 2x; trans 3x, rear axle ~4x, front axle 1x, wiring, interior, dash... The frame is bent, the paint is peeling, the tires are getting bald...

By comparison, that console looks GREAT!

This is not easy to do find a shop to show you how to do it the first time or buy the big long steel antenna you see on the red neck trucks. I had one for years and you can not hurt them unless you cut a peice off and do not use the spring base. They go bad a burn up equipment. Wait till you figure out how to a more power to the Cb and youll be hooked like me. I am currently at 750W with 6000 channels. If you have any questions just ask. I hate to see people burn up equipment.

few questions are glass mount antennas any good...the ones that transfer signal through glass? what type of antenna would you recommend? is it really extremely easy to adjust swr? i hooked up a glass mount but hand not mounted it yet, the antenna is adjustable for swr but i can do min or max and it stays at 0...do they have good range?
