I would take a stab in the dark, and say you are having a problem with connector to the MFS.

Time to remove the steering column cover, and check the MFS connector for bent / worn pins, or chaffing in the harness down the steering column.

This is a common problem with headlamps ( low and/or high ) and turn signals.

If you want to test the MFS while you are that far in:

I would start with the connector to the MFS as the culprit, then move to the harness in the column itself next. Few posts on this the past months, with that being the source of the problem, so chances are fairly good ( but not 100% ).

The 4x4 lights by the switch, I am not understanding the question, nor would I say I am the best to answer this. I don't own a 4x4, so I cannot say what the normal operation would be. Is this the indicator lamp to say when you are in what range ? ( 4hi, 2Hi, 4 lo )

ok i will try that. as for the lights i am not talking about the ones in the dash. its the one for the switch itself on the dash were it says 2h 4h 4l and you turn it to whichever you want. i am pretty sure when i bought the truck and had the lights on at night that the 2h 4h & 4l all lit up in green but they dont anymore or maybe never did? i am not sure. thanks for the help
