Cruise control works then doesn't work
2002 Supercab XLT recall has been done on cruise control
My cruise control works only some times, the wierdest thing is that my horn works perfectly on the air bag pad but get this, when I press the cruise ON and Coast button at the same time, my horn goes off. This will work some of the time, then won't work, then start working again, alot light my cruise control but the 2 don' t seem to have a pattern. Cruise works, horn on controls work, then horn doesn't work and cruise works, then both don't work. What I've been reading it sounds to me like the clock spring, anyone have this happen to them. Any posts on a pic of a clock spring with the steering wheel still on whith the airbag removed.

Yes, It happens to me and i also think it is the clock spring. I've looked at wiring diagrams and that is just about the only thing that ties them together. I'm taking it to the dealer next weekend. Little to deep for me!!
1. you did not make note n your post, of the question raised by tomt, did you have the CC recall repair performed on your truck ?
2. There is a self test in the cruise control system.
With the key off depress and hold the cruise control off button while turning the ignition to the run position, don't start the truck, the cruise light will flash once to let you know it is in self test.
Five additional flashes indicate a bad cruise control servo
Release the cruise off switch and within 5 seconds depress the other switches in sequence:
1. on
2. resume
3. coast
4. set/ accel
The speed control light will flash as each switch is depressed.
If the last one does not flash it may then flash a code
After this the cruise will move the throttle to test the actuator and the cable.
Make sure the throttle returns to idle and turn the key off.

What happened with the self test listed above ?
Same prob here
My cruise stopped working a few days agao. 2002 F150. I did the diagnostic thing and it flashes twice at the end. Once for pushing set/accel, once for an error code? What are the codes and what do they mean? Also, can i just call the local dealer and see about getting the switch changed under the warranty? Thanks.
