airbag code 27

airbag code 27

i have read that the airbag code 27 menas that the light bulb is burned out in the passenger on off switch. Does anybody know if you have to replace the bulb. I mean if you dont replace the bubl and just leve it burned out will anything else happen.

Do a search, I remember reading a few days ago that someone soldered a new bulb in and the code went away. My 00' F250 work truck has the same problem and the shop mechanic said don't worry about it. Light is on now for 8 months.

I had the same thing happen, it is indeed the the small 12v light in the airbag switch. Go to Radioshack. They are 1.39. Take the old one out and replace it with the new bulb and will work like new.
