06 DRL disconnect Help

Hi, I'm new to the F150 online, I had no Idea there was so much info available about my truck....WOW. Anyway, I am Installing an 8000k HID light kit and need to disconnect the DRL's. Ive read the info on here and other places on how to disconnect it but it all pretains to the older body style truck. I've taken my truck apart to look for the "resistor" but cant find anything. Does anyone know how to do this on the 06 version? Thank you for your help.

Owners Manual page 245 ( in the 3rd printing ) :

Relay R03( 1/2 size ISO relay ) DRL high beam disable
Relay R201 ( full size ) DRLs

Pull Relay R03 & R201 and the DRLs should quit working

R201 Normally open contacts ( from Fuse #F40 ) feeds R03 Normally Closed contacts. R03 coil is activated by the high beams ( when high beams on, shuts off DRLs ).

Relay R03 feeds power via the resistor to the low beams ( via low beam fuses F23 & F25 ) for the DRL function ( illuminates them with a lowered voltage due to the voltage drop across the DRL resistor ).

So in short pulling R201 might be all that is needed, but just to be sure I don't have the relays backwards, pull both ( R03 would just be sitting dead without R201 anyway ). With R201 and R03 out, the resistor will not have power to it, but if case you still want to find it, it is buried behind the driver's side headlamp ( not under it like the 99-03 / 04 Heritge / L ). It seems you have to pull the headlamp out to see it ? ( OM bulb replacement procedure if you really care ).

Good luck, let us know how it goes.

PS : F-150s and DRL are a flip of the coin if they have them. I don't know how it is decided which get DRLs, maybe overflow from trucks that were to be sent to CAN ?? I ordered my '01 and '06, and it did not have them ( didn't ask for them either ).

Thanks SSCULLY. I was able to disconnect the DRL s today and I did it by disconnecting the resistor. I found it behind the rubber flap that is next to the left headlight. I would like to post pictures of how I did it but I cant figure out how to. Maybe someone out there could tell me how to post a pic of my truck so it shows in my SIGnature. That would be great Thanks! Here Is a Pic of my truck
