Electric folding side view mirrors

I have a 2005 F-150 xlt crew cab. I would like to install some electric folding side view mirrors, like the ones found in the King Ranch. Is my truck already wired for this? What will it cost? I know I will have to purchase the mirrors with the motor in them at the very least. Thanks for your help CADILA

I would take a guess that it is not wired for it.

I took apart my mirrors on my '06 Lariat and found that the harness is not in the door for the puddle lamp, nor for the control to the power fold part.

Few members have bought them, and wired then into the system, one adding an additional switch, the other using the stock switch power fold function.

The DIY method would require running new wires to the connector for the mirror ( inside door panel, behind the sail panel for the mirror ) and adding the relays, and switches ( or wiring into the stock switch ).

Here is the diagram to give you an idea :

Anybody know what the dealership charges to install these on an '05 Lariat?

The best thing would be to check around and see what they say. Most of the time dealers don't like to retrofit stuff like that so you might have a hard time finding one that wants to do it. But there are some adventerous ones every once in a while. As far as cost I'm sure it wouldn't be real cheap, without the mirrors I'm sure there's probably at least a couple of hours of labor to swap mirrors and do the wiring, plus some misc supplies on top of the mirrors. Off the hip maybe a couple to a few hundred.
