what do I need to do HID lights?

Hey guys, I'm very new to the modding field. I have a 2006 Ford F150 Lariat Super cab, I'm looking into getting these head lamps:

What would I have to do to get these "HID" or xenon? Also, if I do this, would I have to worry about blinding other people?

My dad put some bi-xenon lights in his benz, he had a mechanic do it for $300, I'm wondering if that's what I'm going to have to worry about...

You do not have to head any aftermarket headlights to get them HID. They make HID conversion kits for the stock headlight which work great. However, they are still going to be up there in the price range (around $250-$400). But as far as i know you can just get the conversion kit that fits those certain bulbs and it should work with those headlights.

Well, I wanted to change to the angel eyes, because I love the way they look, but I heard stories about them melting, is this true?

The problem with most of the aftermarket "HID conversion" kits out there is that they simply replace your stock H13 bulb with an HID bulb. Unfortunately, your headlights are a SYSTEM with bulbs, reflectors and a lens. Vehicles that come from the factory with HID's have a SYSTEM designed for them. When you just slap something that wasn't designed for the SYSTEM in, you're usually just asking for trouble. Most of those kits lead to all sorts of light going all sorts of different places - like right into oncoming driver's eyes. I do not recommend them for that reason. The only good aftermarket HID system I've ever seen was the (no longer available) Sylvania Xenarc system. Sorry, but sometimes the truth hurts.

Ok, so would I be ok if I just got the angel eye headlights, and kept the factory bulbs?

You might, but I've seen very few aftermarket headlight replacement systems that really work. Now remember, I define "really work" to mean more than just "looks good to folks looking at your truck." I want something that looks good, puts more usable light on the road, and doesn't blind oncoming drivers.
