Remote Start

I want to add a remote starter to my truck and my wife's '97 Safari van. I don't need anything too fancy, but I'd like a button for the rear glass on the van,and I'd like to keep the factory alarm functional on my '97 F-150. Please suggest name brands and models.

Ford makes a factory remote system you might want to look at. Otherwise go with a good name brand and you'll be fine, DEI(Viper), Code Alarm, Clifford, etc. I've owned all 3 of these brands and they've been fine, Viper was probably my favorite. If you're going to do it yourself bear in mind that there's quite a few wires to hook up (I think the last one I did had 15 or so). If you're working with coded keys you'll also need a bypass module. Good Luck.

I used derrick and autoalarmpro ONCE. I have used Travis at www.kcautosound.com about 15 times. Just do a search for travis, kcautosound, or alarm on here and you'll see he is the choice alot of us use. He's the lead installer for Ford Accessories in Kansas City and also like 16 years installation expertise. He'll take good care of you.
