The '99 and older trucks, even on the higher trim levels, did not have the wiring harness. The missing harness is from the fuse box to the connector behind the bumper.

Now with this said, are you the original owner ? The reason I ask, is it might have had factory fogs, and been in a front end accident, and the wrong bumper put on ??

First is do you have a main headlamp switch with the fog lamp switch in it ?

If so, you can take a look through installing the fuses and the fog lamp relay, turn on your headlamps, pull the switch out for fogs, and make sure you MFS is in the low position. At this point ( after the fore mentioned fuse and relay install ) there should be power at the connectors. If not, you should think about the after market fog lamp kit, which includes the harness.

no i am the third owner. second, my bumper has holes for the fog lights but in place are plastic inserts. third my light switch says nothing about fog lights but if you pull on my light switch when the headlamps are on it clicks out which would be the switch for the fog lights. and fourth the plugs for fog lights are zip tied to the frame.

I have a 98 f150 with fog light pull-out on headlight switch. I was looking to put in some clear Depo fog lights. So all i would have to do is run wires from inside engine comparment fuse box to fog lights? Also would this work. I can see wires going to parking lights on both sides of my truck. Can i just tap into those wires with bigger fuse.

i would not recommend running fogs off of your running lights. the wirring was not setup for that kind of amps. what you could do is use a relay. run power, from the bat, with an inline fuse to the relay, then from the relay to a set of fogs, for the remote power to the relay, tap into your running lights. with this set up your fogs will come on anytime your running lights are on.

scooterx,

Please, please DO NOT be this guy:

If you want to have the fog on with the parking lamps at all time, this is what MGttrmn was describing:

The dashed line is just representing ground, as in any body bolt that has ground wires attached to it ( simplification of drawing ).

By your application question, I take it you don't care if there is a switch on them, is this correct ?
