Windshield wiper

when i push the button to spray my windows my windshield wipers move but most of the time nothing sprays even with my fluid reservoir full. i am thinking maybe it's the washer pump and haven't priced it yet but just wanted to see if there was a possibility it was something else. maybe someone else has dealed with this issue before.

have you cleaning the washer nozzles ?
You can use a paper clip or pin if you don't have a set of small probes.

Next would be to check the hoses from the washer fluid to the nozzles for cracks leaks / kinks ?

Ford says never stick anything in the spray nozzles - not even shop air. ***EDIT*** Read below.

Test the pump to see if it's getting power when you press the button. If it is, but not running, replace the pump. If not, trace the circuit back thru the WCM to the MFS to find out where the problem is.

Why is that ?
How is one to clean them out, or is Ford wanting someone to just replace them if dirty or filled with wax from forgetting to put tape around them ( yes me )

Did this with my '01, without ill effects.

Lexus that is how you adjust the center mark of the spray pattern ( although Ford does not offer this feature, one size fits all )

Just curious why I should not have done this on my '01, and what should I tell dad to watch out for.

I read it on one of the CDs a long time ago, and I thought I put it in that caption, but I can't find it now. But the '99 CD says you CAN use shop air to clean them out, so I guess they changed the policy on cleaning them. What I remember reading said that the passages inside the nozzle were so fine & delicate that even shop air would mess them up, causing them not to spray right. Obviously, people like you who cleaned them successfully proved them wrong.

Is your washer fluid frozen somewhere? The de-icer washer fluid works good if you have a cold winter.

Ive poked my squirter holes with stuff and nothing went wrong.

I would look at the MFS. Mine would only spray in a certain position. Took the end of the switch apart, cleaned the contacts, applied new dielectric grease, and now they work like new.
