hey guys!
im new here and here is why. my 99 5.4L 4x4 is having some issues. first the emergency brake light does not work. they say in the manual that this is a big issue. what would this mean? truck has been running horribly lately if i can even get it started. it wont idle, if it hasnt been run in exses of about 4 hours. i must keep my foot on the gas, and sometimes after about five miles it will catch on and run fine and idle fine. please help!!!!!!

 

my light hasnt worked since the truck was new... I dont know about your idle though, sounds like the IAC valve

 

you mean the light that comes on when you push the e-brake in? check the bulb behind the dash.

as far as idle goes, pull the throttle body and IAC and give them both a cleaning. as check the EGR ports. do a search and itll tell you everything you need.
