when you say amps, you mean aftermarket amps the run to speakers or subs correct? those are in no way controlled by the GEM. id check your grounds. sounds like the main ground may have a problem somewhere.

Leaky windshield syndrome.

Leaks onto the GEM module and fuse panel, causes all kinds of wierd symptoms.

does the radio and windows work when you turn the key back?

how did you check the battery saver relay?

does it only do this when the engine is cranked? key in the on position? key turned to the accessory position (all the way back)?

If you have power windows, you would have an assy delay relay. Prior to '04, the assy delay relay was really only for power windows ( radio was not part of this ckt as the '04 ).
Q1. Do you have power windows ?

Q2. The power for the AMPs, which circuit did you get this from ?

The interior lamps are driven off the interior lamp relay, which directly fed from the battery saver relay. The only 2 courtesy lamps not fed from the interior lamp relay are the Glove Box and the Engine compartment lamps. These are directly fed from the battery saver relay.

The ground on the Battery Saver Relay is controlled by the GEM.

The ground for the interior lamps can also be controlled by the dome lamp switch on the main headlamp switch.

Buzzer, GEM function.

So a few (additional ) questions
Q3. ( as asked by chiefFX4 ) what was the procedure you used to check the Battery Saver Relay ( or maybe what does "tried the BATTERY SAVER RELAY........nope." mean ) ?

Q4. When you try to use the interior lamps, how are you doing this ( door control or the panel switch ) ?

Q5. When you say ( in terms of the MFS ) ".i did that and NO thats not even close" What was that ?

Q6. When you try to use the interior lamps ( which ever way used from Q4 ) and they don't work, does the Engine Compartment or glove box lamp work ?
Need some additional details, to try to figure out what you have tested ( and how ) already, and the state of some test points.

If the amp is hooked into your fuse block, then it probably has a bad ground. If you have any accessories tied into your fuse block, they will cause the EXACT symptoms you describe. If it happens again, just remove any accessories from your fuse block and it will probably fix it. If it does, then you need to fix your bad ground.
