strange problem w/ windshield wipers...

I'm hoping this is something common that can be pinpointed, but at least I've never seen it before. My wipers only come on if I'm in park, and no other gear. IF I turn them on in park and then put it into gear, I cant change their speed or turn them back off. since it's been raining here all week, I've been having to put it in park at every red light/stop sign to adjust accordingly. very annoying

You can start with the MFS (Multifunction Switch)

I figured out today that they work in neutral as well.

however, also noticed that when I take the key out, the heater keeps blowing. AND, the computer is beeping. it's not like the usual chime sound, it's some other lighter one...no SES either.
