Headlight Problems
Headlight Problems
My headlights won't work. They actually only come on when I pull back on the lever to flash my brights. Checked the headlight/highbeam fuses and alls ok, the only fuse that isn't is the power point fuse but I'm not quite sure what it's for. The headlights started acting funky last night but I drove and they were fine. Any info will be well appriciated. By the way, it's a '99.
Thanks,
Allen

When you say "all" fuses, can I confirm the fuses you should have checked for this ?
Central Junction Box ( aka CJB or pass compartment ) Fuse # 26 & #28, 10 A each.
It seems as if CJB Fuse # 16 20 A and BJB ( aka Battery Junction Box / engine compartment ) is good, else you would not have power from BJB Fuse #30 to the MFS, for the FTP ( Flash To Pass ) function, to have power on CJB Fuse #16.
Pending the info above:
Q1. Do you have DRL ( Daytime Running Lamps. ) ?
Q2. If you have the main headlamp switch in the head lamp position, and push forward ( not the FTP function ) do the high beams illuminate ?
Q3. Do you have Autolamps ?
Q4. With the main headlamp switch in the headlamp position, do you have +12V on either side of CJB fuses # 26 & #28 ?
4.1. This is to check if power from BJB Fuse #30 is making it through the main headlamp switch to the MFS to the right and left Low beam fuses.
A few things to verify & Check, to see what the next step is. I don't want to point at XYZ, without doing some problem diagnoses.
EDIT : BTW, the Power Point fuse is for the 12V DC socket next to the Cigar lighter. There is a seperate fuse for each.
