Fuse panel questions?

I attempted to use 4Low the other day, and it wouldn't engage. I looked through the fuses, and checked all that delt with what I thought would be with this. Well reinserting a fuse it wouldn't stay in. Some how I pushed the contacts into the fuse box.

Would it be possible for myself to take the fuse box out and apart to place the contact back in it's place?

If so how hard would this be? (i'm mechanically inclined)

You did not post which fuse panel this is so here is both.

Pass Compartment fuse panel ( Central Junction Box ) is a case of removing the panels around the dash, removing the fuse panel / GEM combo and then unbolting the GEM from the back of the fuse panel.

The engine compartment fuse panel ( Battery Junction Box ) should just be a unbolt and lift up. I know some of the L owners ( some time ago ) were adding stuff to the engine comaprtment fuse panel, and they unbolted it, and inserted the pins from the back. Think it is still the same.

Don't know which 4 wheel fuse you had problems with, so I posted both. Steve83 has some pictures of a assy add on his homepage. This is using the pin through the back method.

It's the Central Junction Box fuse 20 a 5 amp.

I've had the panel below the steering column off, but not any other panels.

I'll attempt it tomorrow, and try to take some pics for others.

Tomorrow came early.

I took apart the dash and what not, and found out that the junction box does not need to be removed.

The bottom panel need to be removed. All fuses and relays need to be removed. Then the plastic cover plate needs to be pryed out. It's held in by the sides.

Then take the individual fuse "leg holder" hold the fuse tighter since it can't be pushed into the box. Once I did that it held the fuse just fine.

No pics since I was pissed off about taking most of the dash apart when I didn't have to.

Everything works fine including 4lo. Go figure.
